National operator of the research fleet (NOSRF)
It was established in 1973 as a Department of the Far Eastern Scientific Centre of the Academy of Sciences, with an initial fleet of three vessels. At present it is an independent organisation with 6 research vessels of different types, purpose and range. It is a unique organisation directly subordinated to the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, the tasks of which are the operation, construction and modernisation of the scientific research fleet subordinated to the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.
